Treatises on the philosophers's stone, [ca. 1775-1825?].

The 8 translations from Theatrum chemicum are the only known Greek versions of these Latin treatises. The remaining 3 treatises have not been identified. All 11 are concerned with the manufacture, significance, and use of the philosophers' stone. The unknown translator wrote after 1659, on paper whose watermarks resemble those produced in the South Tirol in the late 18th-early 19th cent. (Mead, Rose. "An alchemical manuscript at Brown" [typescript].).
